Well, I had a candle burning on a self above my bed and I (stupidly) picked it up and spilled a shitload of wax on my sheets. What is the best course of action according to ATOT?

You take a brown paper bag and place it over the wax. Iron until the wax melts to the paper bag. Peel off.

Scrape the excess. Use a dull knife, preferably a butter knife. You don't want a serrated knife that will snag the fabric.

Place a flat paper bag or cloth over the stain.

Iron the stain through the bag. You'll get the wax to stick to the paper.

If there's a stain, pre-treat it with a stain removal solution before tossing it in the wash. If you don't have any stain removal, try rubbing alcohol or hydrogen peroxide.

xD I'm not into the whole wax fetish as of yet. I was just trying to move the candle when said spill occurred. However, I might just try pouring melted wax over myself sometime. :awe:

Let's see... 16 year old male, potpourri scented candle in bedroom? Suurrrrrrrrre. What were you really doing with the hot wax?

Best course of action? Have your mom take care of it for you. Of course, since you went to ATOT first, rather than your mom, hmmmm, now why is that?

err, candle on shelf over your bed is just a bad idea. Especially if you are clumsy and drop stuff.

Once you've gone all out with your anhydrous caffeine and syringes, you probably won't care too much about the wax on your sheets. Distance to the local hospital will probably be a greater concern.
Assuming you don't incur 3rd degree burns in the meantime.

Not sure if this is real advice or an attempt to get the OP to light his sheets on fire. I look forward to OP's next thread.

Did you grab that by mistake instead of the lotion bottle? :(

You will only make the mistake of spilling hot wax down there once.

You have two things to deal with, getting the wax out and dealing with the stain from the coloring used in the candle. Scraping/ironing will get the wax out, stain remover for the color. One other tip for candle wax is to rub ice cubes on the wax to get the wax nice and cold, and it flakes off more easily. Especially useful when you spill wax on your clothes and you don't want to take them off in order to iron them.

When you do decide to play hot wax games on the body, I recommend low temperature candles - the wax melts at a lower temperature so that it is less likely to burn you. (If you're going on purpose for the pain aspect, use birthday candles - they burn really hot)

Have fun.

A 16-year-old guy who does laundry? I think I love you.
