I sometimes stare at one point in the sky for a second...

and wonder about what would I find if I could travel in that direction in a straight line until I reach the end of the Universe or until I went around the curvature of space and came back to where I started from...

I wonder what it would be like if you followed it and never came back

Or when you reached that point of the end of the universe, what was beyond it.

The time frame of 'one second' is not enough to qualify as 'staring' in human context.

I think you would eventually come to a planet much like our own except all the humans there have never heard of the letter 'h'.

you should really put that in the blog you advertise in your signature.
you know the one you havent updated since august.
that seems a more appropriate forum for your musings on 'mind and matter'.

Of course, by looking at one spot in the sky for one second, I'm really looking at a vast area of space because of the rotation of Earth, and the movement of the Solar System around the Galaxy...

I've tried. There is no end, and it doesn't curve backward in any dimension.

I think there is nothing outside our Universe. Not even empty space. Not even time. NOTHING. Just like before the Big Bang.

Paradox? What if our Universe is just a big paradox...

I wonder if you could actually pick any straight line that does not have an object somewhere in its path?

actually, you only stare at that spot b/c of the hope that someone, anyone, will walk by, notice your staring and quite possibly consider you, if but for a brief moment, "a really interesting and introspective guy."

I'm quite sure this is all that really matters to you.

99999999999 out of 100000000000 you would hit nothing and encounter nothing. The universe is expanding at an ever accelerating pace. The only way you would hit anything is if you head toward Andromeda.
