I snore really REALLY loudly

Ns1

No Lifer
WTF can I do about it? I'm not overweight or anything. My dad snores really loudly too, and I know I probably sound the same way =X

It's not a big deal cuz I'm I have my own room and stuff, but I worry if I were to say fall asleep in class...

i had a horrid roommate that snored really loudly. he would make constant piggy noises and wake me up in the middle of the night. I had to wear earphones and listen to music to fall asleep.

then one day i stabbed him in his sleep and he hasnt snored since. *hah* i wish. he moved out for some reason or other and then everything was much better.

some peopel do some dont, it has nothing to do with how fat you are, hell all the peopel who i know that are skinny snore louder then teh fat ones

I snore really loudly as well, and I'm not overweight.

I have a friend who is skinny as a rail (one of thos guys who can eat all day and not gain a pound), and he snores really loudly as well.

are there any quick fixes? I saw this ad a while back that was a spray you apply to the back of your thoart.. but I doubt that it worked

damn, sleep apnea sounds horribly familiar... was reading some of the stories, do you really have to wear that mask and air system? seems a horrible cure

it's not how fat you are on the outside, it's how fat you are on the inside.

my ex snores REALLY loudly if he a) sleeps on his back; b) is drunk; c) is sick. It always sucked trying to sleep next to him when he's snoring..and he'd always tell me toj ust punch him or something..but liike..i'm not gonna punch some dude who's dead asleep..it's mean! heh.

my roomie snores really loudly as well....but she hides it by turning on her fan and aiming it right at her face. But either way, i find it extremely hard to sleep b/c i'm not used to such loud snoring and such loud white noise (from the fan).

bleh..

My dad has to be the KINGof loud snoring. Hes been sleeping on my couch for the past couple of nights, might be here for a few weeks. Im going to buy a camper or something so he can sleep in the back yard😛

Have your tonsils removed. I was learning in psychology class that children with ADHD are linked with having sleep apnea and snoring. By removing the tonsils and adenoids, the children were able to sleep better because they could breathe better. Plus, it also helped calm these children down, which in fact were not suffering from ADHD, but only sleep apnea.

I wouldn't guarantee that this procedure would work. I'm not a doctor, but if a doctor will do it to you (it's a common procedure), why not? At least get analyzed by one of the sleep doctors first.

Buy a VW Westfalia Camper Bus. Then you'll have a cool camper for yourself after he leaves. 😉 (Click on my Money Pit.)

Weight gain and snoring are absolutely related. At least in my case. When I was at my correct weight (180) I only snored when drunk. When I started my new job and gained 10 lbs, I snored occasionally according to the wife. Now I'm at 210 (mostly from trying to quit smoking) and snore really bad. Even wake myself up sometimes.

Luckily I'm slipping back down... (was at 215 last week) and getting back to normal. I hate this extra weight. It's ugly.

put a pillow of her face
hold firmly for 2 minutes
resume sleep

the sprays and pills don't work. seriously you need to goto a sleep specialist, ask your doctor to refer you to one, or call local hospitals till you find one with a sleep department.

the CPAP mask is the best treatment as it works in 99% of the cases. there are some surgery's out there as well I'm not a fan as they don't have a high success rate. sometimes it's just enlarged tonsils and adenoids that are getting in the way, that's an easy job to cut those out.

I was the same way. i even posted about it.

anyway they took out my tonsils and straightened out my nose.

I haven't snored since. I am also getting a better nights sleep. it might be worth it to see a doctor.
