I smoke and my roommate has a problem with it

So I smoke 1 or 2 cigarettes a day; helps me unwind. I always do it outside the apartment. Every time I go out for a smoke, my roommate makes a snide comment. I've told him that I'm aware that it's unhealthy, and I appreciate his concern, but I choose to smoke anyway. When that didn't work I reminded him that he has vices of his own that I don't bother him about. He's one of these chihuahua types that gets annoying quick.

Would anyone else here get severely irritated and pissed off at this type of thing? Or am I crazy?

Blackjack2000: As long as you're being courteous and trying to keep the smoke out of the apartment, he shouldn't be saying anything. I would like to note, though, that smoke hangs on you a lot more than you realize. Ask him what his problem with it is and see if you can make a comprimise or if he's just being a jerk

I think you underestimate the stench the smoke leaves on your body. I smoked for 2 years, and now I can't be around people that smoke because it reeks so much.
