I slide on some ice and hit a curb

I was driving and hit some ice and slowly hit boxed curb. Do you think I fucked up my wheel and alignment? It's the front passenger side.

I looked at it and it didn't seem bent. Just scraped the steel part of the wheel.
 
How did you hit it? Did you hit going straight into the curb, going along parallel to it or at an angle? At an angle will be worst.
 
Pish, worry about the alignment when your tire shows weird wear on it...

As far as screwing with the wheel, is the tire still holding pressure, and looking at the balance being thrown off, at higher speed is there a new vibration?

Tell me how. I prefer not to pay to have my car looked at until I know there is something wrong with it. Alignment, bent rim, and balance issues are all self-diagnosable. With an alignment you have to wait awhile for it to manifest, but the bent rim not holding pressure or balance shaking at higher speed is all very easy to recognize.

Yeah, and amazingly they tried to charge me $70 bucks for an alignment issue that has yet to cause any tire wear patterns two years later. The check is for free, the ass pounding starts 15 minutes later.

Well yeah, of course they're going to do that.

They actually gave me the $75 alignment for free when I bought my tires there, and I've noticed a huge difference.

Are you on the crown of the road? They're designed to angle a bit to either side to assist with drainage.

This. Not everyone has the time/money to run to the mechanic every time something happens. This is something that is either easily self-diagnosable, or something that can be taken care of when you normally would as part of your maintainence schedule.
 
i've hit the curb a couple times in my old camry and it never resulted in anything major. i did however need a new steel rim. I had a vibe at 65+

make sure nothing is shaking at highways speeds is the best free test you can do that doesn't take up too much time. serious alignement issues will show up in the tires in less then 3k miles.

at this point the most likely damage IF there is any would be bent tie rod on the side that got hit. the tie rod end is cheap about $20-50 bucks the inner rod should run a little higher on most cars. labor should be give or take 1.5 hours and a alignment.

so high ball $100 in parts $150 in labor and $75 for alignment. but this is something i would consider WORST case. most likely there is no damage or you SLIGHTLY tweaked things around. plenty of people do this all the time.
