So the other night i think i woke up at around 4:30 am... walked to the bathroom and took a shower. i snapped out of it when i put my toothbrush away (i brush my teeth in the shower), which is the last thing I do when I shower, so that tells me I used soap, shampoo'd, etc (although i don't remember that).

i feel like, though i'm not sure, i can recall flashes here and there of me walking to the bathroom and picking up soap at time. but once i fully regained consciousness, i found myself terribly groggy and sleepy like i just woke up from the alarm and had a severe lack of sleep.

anyhow, i went back to bed around 5am. i woke up at 7am to get ready for work and found that i apparently must have left an empty picture frame by the bathroom sink for some funny reason...

just thought i'd share and wonder if anyone else has had sleepwalking experiences? it feels like a trip when you realize what you've done.

btw i've had sleepwalking episodes in the past... maybe once every 2 to 4 years.

You know, maybe if you showered more than once a month, your body wouldn't fight against you and force you to shower ;)

That's freaky. I wonder what causes sleepwalking? Your mind has to be somewhat awake to perform all those specific tasks.

I don't know if it was sleep walking or if I fell off from my loft bed, but one time in the dorms I woke up in the middle of the night because my arm was hurting a lot. I realized that I was sleeping on my arm leaning against my desk chair.

I slept in a loft bed so my desk was right below me at least 4-5 feet. Either I fell off of the bed and didn't notice and slept leaning against my chair or I slept walk off of my bed and started sleeping again against my chair.

If I was sleep walking, God knows what I did....

That was my only sleepwalking-esque experience for me though...

My brother used to sleepwalk... he fell down a full flight of stairs once doing it. Scary stuff... especially when the sleepwalker is actually talking to you... now that's creepy... when they are looking at your face but their gaze is miles away...

Once I walked out of my house as a kid (door wasn't locked) and walked down the street to the neighbors. They answered the door and told me to go home and go to sleep, so I did.

I remember most of it actually, even though I was asleep.

Haven't done it since, afaik...

The only time this has happened to me is when I go to bed while extremely intoxicated. I remember going to bed in my room, but waking up on the couch like wtf.

my mom when she was a kid used to sleepwalk all the time.

once on a trip when she was in her teens she got out of bed, opened the door, walked down the hotel hallway, went down the stars and stopped at this outside balcony that dropped down about 30 stories. all this was at about 4 in the morning in Bermuda.

ive never slept walked but my old step brother used to get up in the middle of the night and just sit there in his bed while talking to himself and staring at the wall. was mad creepy

I did that once as a kid. Walked down a pretty decent amount of stairs, took a cup from the cuboard, and semi woke up in the living room sitting cross legged holding the cup. Not sure if my mom realized what had happened as she kind of snapped me out of it and told me to go back to bed. I know I had a small conversation with her but I only remember it as me saying some really random and confused thoughts, and I dunno what those are anymore.

I used to sleep walk all the time, even sleep walking down a flight of stairs (but not hurting much). I finally stopped when I walked downstairs and triggered our home alarm. The thing probably shocked me out of the habit

I used to sleep walk when I was a kid.

nothing super crazy, and I don't think my parents/sister even knew, but I used to wake up in a different room of the house than I went to sleep in pretty frequently. most often, I'd go to sleep in my bedroom on the second floor and woke up on the couch in the basement. haven't done it since my early teens, though.

A roommate in college was a rather "animated" sleeper. The weirdest though was when he was sleeping, and I was still doing homework - he suddenly sat straight up and just stared at me. It was such a rapid motion that it was creepy. He said some jibberish to me, and I told him, "You're still asleep. Lay back down." He muttered something else, and lay down again.

My sleepwalking experience involved a frayed wire. The insulation on one of the wires on my headphones was damaged, and the copper was visible. In my sleep, I remembered this, and interpreted it as a dangerous thing, what with bare wire being exposed and all. I went out to the livingroom to try to ask one of my parents to do something about it, but I guess I wasn't making any sense, so I was told to go back to bed, which I did.

You know, maybe if you didn't shower compulsively, your body wouldn't become programmed to go there every time you fall asleep.

I once slept walked and found myself outside my house, sleeping in the backyard with my pillow only. I sleep in only boxers, so it was kind of awkward.

I've slept conversed (told about the conversation the next day) but never walked. Lazyness FTW.

that pretty much describes one of my sleepwalking episodes that i had, which my brother witnessed. he wasn't doing homework tho, he was playing on the ps1. i picked up a controller and muttered something and went back to sleep.

I once sat straight up in my dorm room with 5 of my buddies there still playing axis and allies and I said "pussy", then laid back down and went to sleep. very strange.

My father would sit up very rapidly and talk about airports and how he was going to miss his flight. Then someone would say to him, "what are you talking about?". He'd turn to look at the person, then close his eyes and lay back down slowly. So freakin' weird...
