No, you should really get 2-256 meg sticks, but 2-128s will work too. :) NForce has dual channel ddr ram so you do need two.

You don't NEED two sticks, nForce works with only one DIMM slot used. But you won't get to take advantage of nForce's ability to use two channels simultaneously if you only use one stick.

Or you could get it from Crucial for $45/ea + $5.50 for 2nd day shipping.

Yes, I would suggest that you buy at least two sticks of the 128 Mb or 256 Mb RAM. If you can afford the bigger stuff, go for it!

Ever since that earthquake, stupid people are being scared by shadows & thinking ram prices are going to go up "real soon"... apparently "real soon' hasnt been within the last 2 years...

However, market analysts believe prices will keep going down well into 2002 as manufacturers try to flush out their inventory.

Is nForce going to support more than two DDR (Unregistered) DIMM slots. I'd really like to have a gig of DDR in my next system. I just ordered two 256mb sticks from Crucial. I'm wondering if I should cancel that order and wait for the 512's to come out.

I'd like a gig also but most of the mboards also seem to have 3 DIMM slots :| If the picts had shown 4 DIMM slots, I probably would have bought my memory by now. Oh well, hopefully 512 DIMMs aren't too much more than 2x 256.
