I sense a disturbance in the Force! Where's AntecCSR?!

Ok, so my supervisor and I went to CompUSA to pick up Antec Plus660AMG's for our Fiscal Year 2004 system builds...

...and they were GONE. :Q

Our guy there pulled them up on CompUSA's site. A couple weeks ago they had been $99.99, but now they're $185?! :Q Our guy said they had all been pulled and sent back to the IM warehouse. AntecCSR, you want to spill the beans on this?

My theory: either Antec is taking them off the market and replacing them with a new model (maybe one with SATA hard-drive power plugs or something?) or there was a recall, or CompUSA is just shooting themselves in the foot for some other stupid reason. :disgust: I sure hope this is a temporary thing.

Newegg's still got 'em in stock for $96, mwave for $98, Googlegear $99. Maybe CUSA just bonered it.

Pretty sure Comp decided not to carry the 660AMG anymore.

No plans to discontinue them that I'm aware of.

That's good news 🙂 We have net-30 terms with our local CompUSA, so I wish they would carry them again. I guess a Sonata would be a nice substitute, except I'm thinking the door over the drives is going to get broken off about one year into its five-year lifespan at our office. 🙁

BTW, any plans to add SATA power plugs that you've heard? Adapters are out there, but that seems so klutzy 😛

AntecCSR, do you have an update to what's going on with the Fusion? Has it been killed completely, or is a redesign being worked on? Any timeframe at all?

He answered my same question in this thread.

The folks in charge will be at the factory, to discuss the problems with it some more. Likely gone, but not totally dead yet. It's replacement is suppossedly still on track.

There are plans to put 2 SATA power connectors on TruePower PSU's. However I don't know the time frame.
