So I did a fresh reinstall the other day, just finished setting everything up the way I wanted it. Then like a moron I was messing around creating user accounts for different family members. I made one called "home" and gave it admin rights. Now I'm hosed because I can't get back to all my original settings which were under the "admin" account. I can get in if I boot to safe mode, but otherways it defaults to "home" with no option of choosing... I just want to delete "home" and continue using "admin" since that's all I need.

Help! I don't wanna spend all that time trying to recover my email/calendar/everything else!

Get on your computer somehow (either "home" account or w/e). Go to control panel->User accounts->change the way users log on and off->disable fast user switching and turn off the welcome screen. Then log off and log on as the administrator and you should have everything back. If not then it is something else I didn't understand properly. If you want to make it so your computer automatically logs on to a certain account you will have to edit the registry (unless there is a setting I am unaware of) to change the defaulusername and defaultpassword.

Good luck!

at the login screen if you do a CTRL-ALT-DEL-DEL you can now enter any account.

once in as admin- delete the HOME acount.

This is all a result of the fast user switching- it by default hides the admin accout to protect it. a CRTL-ALT-DEL-DEL will allow you to access it on a normal boot.

you can keep the home acount if you wish or delet it or copy the atributes from the admin acount to the Home account many options and all easy fixes.
