I scored a sweet game at Goodwill that I've been looking for ages for...

I owned this exact version in 2001, but I lost it!!!:thumbsdown:

But now I'm all like :awe::awe::awe::awe::awe:

Warcraft 2: Battle.net edition! I was hesitant to buy it at the small fortune of $2.99 because I run Vista 64-bit Ultimate, and last I checked that game was DOS.

Turns out it is a Windows executable and is compatible with Vista and the 64-bit OS. Nobody is online to play against me, but that's ok. I have housemates that want to play this as well. The only issue I has is the patch wouldn't patch directly from Battle.net, so I had to manually download the patch from Fileplanet.

It baffles me that this isn't a game you can buy directly from Blizzard anymore. It runs the same Battle.net as Starcraft...

Will I be able to install the full copies of this on a few systems and play LAN without issues? It works like this with Starcraft for us.

Edit: It was the ONLY PC game at the store. I found it in the CDs. Literally, the only game I was looking for and it was the only one present. Crazy!

I see Warcraft 2 all over the place. Usually right next to the Warcraft 3 Battle Chest.

Battle.net edition? I saw the DOS version a few times but not this one.

I had been working retail (Loss Prevention, which has electronics) for over 4 years. I never saw it at Target, Fred Meyer, or Best Buy even in 2007. Where the heck is this at?
