I say we BAN chiefvalue.com from POSTING "refurbished" video cards on Pricewatch!!

Man am I tired of thinking Pricewatch has a good price on a video card only to explore and find it's a refurb at ChiefValue. If I wanted used and/or broken goods...I'd look in my local newspaper for garage sale listings.

Yeps I agree. I get their emails that shows for example a very nice price on a LCD monitor. But upon opening and reading you see it is a Refurbished. There is NO way I will buy a refurbished LCD monitor.

I honestly think chiefvalue/newegg.com are going down hill from where they used to be at one time. I use ZZF for everything I possibly can. This is all just IMO of course. 🙂

Its my experiance with them latetely. I told you its imo. Some others may have had NO problems with them lately.

They haven't been shipping as well as they used to for me and their prices hasn't been as well either.

Well...I've order a lot from Newegg and have been please in the past, but last week I received the EVGA SLI mobo and 7800GT combo and the mobo arrived with an open retail package. I e-mailed Newegg and said I didn't like paying for retail and receiving an open package. They didn't bother to e-mail me back.

I don't know about you, but when I drop $400 for retail products I EXPECT to receive SEALED, NEW products. The mobo "looked" new and the packaging for the cables, etc. was unopened so I'm going to give the board a try. But if the mobo ends up being defective, I will be very unhappy.

I also have to admit on a few items like my linksys network stuff the box also had clearly been opened and their were smudges and marks that look like someone had man handled it (on the router)....

Also the last mobo I got from them was the same way. One of the cable packages was ripped open.

I dont trust them either. I would rather buy fropm elsewhere as of late...Buying from monarch now....

To be frank...I suspect we'll see a LOT more "open" packages coming from e-tailers. The economy stinks and I suspect there's a lot of pressure to move "open" and/or "used" merchandise.

If it continues...expect a lawsuit to be announced in the future (i.e., MANY firms have gotten busted for selling used products as "new" products especially the OEM system builders).

The temptation to do this must be great though.
