i was driving and saw this brand new car that resembled a civic but it had acura badges on the front and the lights weren't quite like the new civics. i thought to myself riceboy with custom lights but when i pulled to the back, it said 1.7 something and the lights were also different, and it also had an acrua badge.
everything looked smooth, and not shoddy like some riceboy mod.
edmunds doens't have it in their list of acura's.

anyone know what it is?

Are you in Canada? I think they have some goofy Acura version of a Civic up there.

wtf is it doing in NY w/NY plates?

You can register a Canadian car in most US states.

what's the benefit of doing that?
other than getting cars that we don't get in the US and for those who move?

You can bring cars over the boarder, though it's a little more intensive than just registering a car that's certified US legal...

is it more expensive? after customs and taxes, etc. and shipping the car over to the US, i don't think it'll be worth it unless you're talking over $1g in savings and you live close to the border.

That's just pathetic....an Acura badged Civic.

Just like an Acura-badged Integra? ;)

At least the Integra had better engines and from what I know, just used the Civic's underpinnings. There's a market for the TSX (fills the sporty sedan void) but an obvious clone of Honda's economy car? Seriously, what the hell is the point? Acura is supposed to be upscale.
