I liked the races and the cars, but the story line was kind of bland. My question is: What kind of car does the cop have at the beginning? I think that is what I will buy when I actually have money in my pocket.

The green one that he's running in the movie lot? That'd be a late 2G Mitsubishi Eclipse/DSM, if I remember it right. Maybe you're talking about the Lightning?

I liked the movie a lot. I thought it was great, and I'm a big sucker for tastefully done ricing.
That movie ruined racing for this country. Having a car that is fast without nos is quite a bit more respectable than being able to nos your car up. Anyone can put nos in their car and get it going fast. Hell, I could probably get my 1994 Suzuki Sidekick up to 150 or so with nos, but it doesn't mean a thing.

that movie was a complete joke, i could name 50 things that were wrong about cars that movie. The thing that pisses me off most is that they acted like they knew wtf they were talking about. Vin talked about how he needed sr20 engines and they were civics ! anyone who knows anything about nissan silvias and 240s would tell you that whoever wrote that line is retarded. Sr20s are so awesome and RWD and there is no POSSIBLE way you could run one in a civic, unless you spend like 100 grand.

Yes, it was. Driven (another racing movie now on Starz) was also just a remake of Days Of Thunder with Formula 1 cars instead of stock cars. Like the Fast and Furious, everything was just overblown, technically inaccurate, and over the top. All of the movies that I mentioned certainly aren't Oscar material, but they're still kinda amusing to watch.
