Okay I think I see the Metroid people are talking about. Anyway here it is rotated with labels to make the skull clearer.

It's not that hard to see. The big circular cup-ring is the head. The part branching off on the right is the tail. Imagine it spinning through the air rapidly in corkscrew-like motion, about to hit you square in the face.

I'm... not sure I want to imagine that. But sperm have much smaller tails compared to their "heads" than this.
