I saw The Delta Force yesterday

I wonder what the military software simulators are like... and if they're any better than Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfare...

It must be extremely hard to be a Delta soldier, narrows down to the best of the best on top of the best leaders.

Since they mainly recruit from Army Special Forces (Green Berets) and Rangers, they have alot of practice. They're generally older and more experienced than other Special Operations Forces, get the newest and most advanced weapons and equipment, and are highly-trained in both MOUT and CQB. They're also supported by Rangers, the 160th SOAR, and Air Force Special Tactics operators (Combat Controllers and Pararescuemen) when necessary.

"Special Forces" are specifically the Green Berets. Delta and the rest are Special Operations Forces. Marine Force Recon is considered "Special Operations Capable", but technically they aren't SOFs. Basically:

Special Operations Forces

- Delta Force: Counter/Antiterrorist, "Black Ops"

- Army Special Forces (Green Berets): Unconventional "Guerilla" Warfare, Foreign Internal Defense, Training of Indigenous Forces

- Army Rangers: Direct Action/Rapid Assault Light Infantry

- Navy SEALs: Maritime & Riverine Special Ops

The Marines now have a component that is part of SOCOM....

Your breakdown of which SOF force does what is oversimplistic and not really correct.
