I don't know all the answers, but I'm sure they all have something to do with Greek mythology.

I never figured that out either. However, some of the songs on the soundtrack are pretty good.

Ummm.. Modern day Odyssey with George Clooney as Ullysses. Just your basic beat the bad guys and get back to the woman you love story.

edit: spelling

edit2:

Many parallels with the odyssey:
Like sirens at the river. i.e. beautiful women
John Goodman as the cyclops.
Can't remember all the others off the top of my head.

Point -> During the depression, three convicts escape from a chain gang in order to recover a fortune in hidden treasure before it is lost beneath a newly diverted river. It also has loose ties to the Odyssey by Homer.

Audience-> Anyone who appreciates very good quirky comedies.

Dunno. I was waiting for the movie to get going and when it was 3/4 way through and I realized that my dreams were going to be dashed I stopped the movie. Gone are the days I'll watch something just because I rented it even though it SUCKS.

Really? I agree the music was good, but I also thought the movie was funny as hell. George Clooney is actually a good comic actor although he rarely is credited with it. So many good one-liners:

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!! I HATE FIRE!!

...and stay out of the Woolworths!!

..we..thought...you..was...a...toad!...

I laughed out loud through the whole thing.

Well, obviously you don't have much taste in movies.

Hmm, so you're saying that since I think it sucks but everyone on epinions thinks that it's good then I'm wrong? Look at all the people who buy eminem cds or britney spears CDs. Am I wrong to dislike that music too just because so many other people like it? I like plenty of movies - I just thought this one was boring and exceedingly pointless. It was long stretches of tedium interspersed with small sections of mediocre humour.

Oh you're one of THOSE people ;)

Well I think you're wrong and posted 3 sources that also point to you being wrong. That is the best you can do with a movie since good or bad is subjective. But you also like fat chicks so your taste is much different from the norm.

How can you say he's wrong? There's no black/white answer to "is this a good movie?".....he didn't like it, a lot of people did....BFD.

Fat chicks? I don't like fat chicks!

Anyway most scores for movies online - unless the movie was hyped - are going to be high, because people who didn't like the movie simply don't care to go to a site and spout about it. I bet if you look at most movies you'll find fairly high scores across the board on online reviews.

That's why I said "I think" and "it's subjective"....somehow you quoted me and still missed that.

At Rotten Tomatoes -> Unfaithful 45% and Murder by Numbers 31% both unhyped.

Wait a minute, are you calling mrs. skoorb fat??

I don't know what Mrs. Skoorb looks like but he called Jessica Alba ugly and too skinny so I question his taste :D

I liked the music so much that I went to my first concert in nearly a decade to see Alison Krauss & Union Station in Ft. Worth.

No, I caught that, it's just that you also posted sources that were supposed to support your opinion that he's wrong about this movie. Since it's a completely subjective thing, linking "sources" is kinda moot (they're just other opinions)......you're semi-arguing an opinion the way most would argue scientific facts; that's all I was pointing out.;)
