There was an advance screening of it last night as part of the Asian American International Film Festival in NYC, and since I'm here for the summer, there was no way I was gonna miss it. I had high expectations for it after reading the positive reviews on rottentomatoes.com, and lemme tell ya... it didn't disappoint. It's similar to Dude Where's My Car but the humor is a lot smarter and more visual... also, there were several scenes that just had me laughing non-stop for minutes. The movie did address racial stereotypes in subtle (and sometimes not-so-subtle) ways, and it did a really great job of applying humor at the same time.
The lead actors (John Cho and Kal Penn) and the director (Danny Leiner) were all there afterwards to answer questions from the audience, and they revealed that a sequel is already in the works!
I thoroughly enjoyed this movie and I'd recommend it to anyone. Go see it when it comes out on the 30th!
