I saw a guy cheating in an important test. Should I have told on him?

WRONG.
only HALF the answer.

you could have an IP address that looks like 2001:0db8:85a3:0000:0000:8a2e:0370:7334
and Unlike IPv4, an IPv6 address has a dedicated subnetting portion... the first 48 bits are for Internet routing... the 49th to the 54th are for defining subnets... last 64 bits are for device (interface) ID's
So you had to cut/paste the answer, as the font clearly changes? :hmm:

if 'no cellphones' wasn't spelled out in the rules when taking a pre-employment exam... it's not off limits.

It also doesn't say you can't rape the secretary while you're waiting... it is however morally assumed.

They assume that they won't have dishonest asshats googling answers for paperwork that will decide if they're moving to the next application step or even getting a job.

May as well add a few fictitious certs on to the ol resume too, right? Could always google up answers regarding them if asked.

IPv4 uses addresses that consist of 32 bit, or tuples of 4 numbers between 0 and 255.

IPv6 is a new version of the protocol that is meant to replace IPv4 in the end. It uses 128 bit addresses (written as tuples of 8 hex numbers, each containing up to 4 hex digits, or 16 bit).

Many of the servers are "dual stacked", i.e. they support both. Your PC most likely is "dual stacked" as well. But do you use IPv6? Most likely not, because some network component in-between does not support it.

Tattling is wrong.

Looking after your own career is not tattling. Anybody that screws you is not your friend and you dont owe them any favors.

i guess when you're working with outdated technology... sure... i'll give ya that.

Very few companies are using IPv6 in the US. Unless you work for one that does you will almost never see it.

Stick with textbooks kid.

jesus.. you jump from using a cellphone, to committing a crime?

Your initial argument is totally invalid in a moral sense...
It's not even up for debate. Are you defending it because you cheated to get to where you are?

Also not concerned what some of the P&N special ed kids think.

go ahead smart guy..

what is an ip number?

and how do you add a printer to the network? (and no... plugging in the network cable is NOT the right answer)
Question is confusing because it doesn't say whether the installation is software-based or hardware-based.

There are transition services to help people getting connected to IPv6. One of them is called Teredo. Most current Windows versions have Teredo enabled by default (Vista does, and Windows 7 does as well). With XP SP2 you need to enable it.

What you talking about like a shared printer on a workstation....not technically a network printer..just sayin

It's hilarious that somebody would throw out their credentials of their employer and take a high & mighty approach to the thread and then endorse blatant cheating.

Irony is one of my favorite things. Right up there with animated GIFs.

Apparently running a Farm on Facebook, is not what an employer is looking for as your last employment on your C.V.

I imagine most places don't like to hire tattletales.

Ah, so we resort to 3rd-grade language and social standards when we want to preserve the status quo of in incompetent, poorly-run office that bleeds money and produces nothing?

gotcha, had no idea that was the standard in the coprorate world...

:hmm:
OH WAIT! I did know that. We ALL saw what happened in 2008 when the corporate world decides it doesn't like "tattletales" ruining the fun times for everyone at the top! give me a motherfucking break!

 And remember: this involves someone applying for a job. Not a co-worker. If you prefer to let cheating, no-account meat-heads into your office, more power to you. But don't come crying when you run your company bankrupt and demand a golden parachute for your shoddy management skills.

I would argue that hiring a psychopath who comes in one day to the office and kills everyone a bit worse hire then someone who is lazy and incompetent.

Maybe...unless the sociopath takes out an office-full of worthless, cheating, lazy assholes that have no idea what they were doing--but were impossible to fire thanks to the glories that is HR--to be replaced by useful, experienced, productive staff.

:hmm:

Which companies are using V6? Since, of course there are so few, you should know most of them that are.

Take you head out of certs and realize that others have been working in networking for longer than a year.

the fuck what?

ICANN is one since it's a given, World of Warcraft is actually (along with some other game servers) allowing it.

Google, ISPs and Cellular companies of course.

Not many private, even big business are moving to it yet; although most are making efforts to plan that move.
