BTW, what happened to owner of Delorean? The guys who went to jail or something like that..?

Went to jail briefly on drug charges, but it turned out to be a sting operation. He died recently. I did one of my senior projects on him years ago ;)

He was never convicted, he was acquitted of all charges. It's amazing how many people think that he was convicted.

Gigawatt, read incorrectly by the guys who wrote the script.

I remember the rumor was that they were real, but they never made it to the market because of safety concerns. Of course that was complete bullsh|t, but elementary school kids will believe anything so it spread like wildfire.

That was the next line in the movie. I have a buddy that has that scene memorized so we go back and forth through it.

They are junk cars. I see them here and there though around Denver.

I'm suprised someone from Cali doesn't see them or other exotics more often.

When I was a kid I got to sit in one of the ones they used in the filming of BTTF. I was at Universal Studios and they picked me to do a little skit where I acted like we were going through time while they filmed it. Needless to say I hope that video never surfaces...

It was really cool to see the car though, all the indicators still worked, but I don't think the flux capacitor lit up anymore.

I wonder what other chassis that the body would fit on? You could give it a real frame, good suspension, big engine, good gearbox, the works and have a sweet looking car that could actually drive like it looked.

How can you tell if John DeLorean has been down your street?

All the white lines have been snorted off the road....

They came out about the time I graduated high school. A friend made a deal with his father-buy me a DeLorean instead of springing for college. It was an awesome car to ride around in.

Wasn't the body brushed aluminum instead of steel? It's wet here, and the car didn't rust. To polish it up he'd use Windex.

I live in SoCal and see them every now and then. Living out here, you see so many exotics, that you kind of become jaded.

When I was a kid, I lived near one of the founders of Vector Aeromotive.
Still one of my favorite cars of all time. Pictures
