I saw a black MB CL65 AMG on the road today...

What stood out the most was the size of the brake rotors. You could probably stop a freight train with them. They're just huge.

The guy was driving awfully slow, though. Either he was afraid of the car, or he was a MB salesman making a home delivery.

break in period.

I just saw one about 10 minutes ago walking home from work. Some Asian woman was driving it and parked it right in front of me.

Not very uncommon in these parts.

in so cal, you would think that they give out luxury and exotics to newborn babies at the hospital. but then again, for every exotic car i see, i see 10 beater cars with baja plates on them.

its beautful. Always loved the CL, the facelift in 02 made it even more beautiful. One of those cars i will save up for in the future. Albeit a 500, 600, 55, or 65.

Do you guys in LA (and California in general) see so many exotics and expensive cars (CL65AMG) as you guys say you do? I can't imagine seeing a Ferrari or Lambo or AMG every day.

a $180,000 grocery-getter?
Try strolling around West LA/BH/Century City once in a while. You'll probably see 10, and ferraris, lambos, bentleys, etc.

Yes, especially in West LA. The movie types are exactly a modest bunch.

thats a third or fourth car- you just dont buy a $180k automatic that doesnt handle as well as the 600 horses would make you think as your only car.

nice. My hottest car sighting was a Porsche 911 Turbo while out on a run. Not a horribly exotic car, but I live in a very rural country town of 3000 people. The typical vehicle around here is a 1979 Dodge Ram pickup.

I saw a bright orange Lotus Exige the other day on Long Island, first one of those I have ever seen on road.

yeah i saw a freakin Lotus in downtown Walnut Creek one random day. I did a double take, and was like, wtf those are allowed in the US? (i think it was one of the models that aren't sold here)

Or he was just some old guy who could afford it who wasn't interested in its performance

You should come down to northern Bergen county in NJ. You will see tons of these kinds of cars. In fact, the next town over has a Ferrari dealership. I saw an Enzo getting gas twice a while back. If you go to the ferry terminal in Weehawken, you will see tons of Ms, AMGs and an occasional RS. I parked my POS car next to an RS6 once.

The 'exotic/luxury' cars i've seen to date:
most recent was an aston martin vanquish, silver, on the freeway. saw this last week. it was going too slow =)

That fact that you remember all that worries me just a tad...
