I went out and bought an AMD approved to 1400Mhz A1 Electronics 400w specifically for this board. It wouldn't even POST. Fans came on but nothing else. So, I swap in the crappy Deer 250w that came with the generic case and the system has been fine, NO problems at all. I couldn't explain why. I do have an APC UPS so I'm sure that helps, but how a Deer 250 beats the A1 400 is beyond me.

I love this board, the SIS735 is faster than my KT266.

You received a DOA ps from Antec (or wherever you purchased it from) Return it for a new one. I have the PP412x 400w PS in my main rig (Antec SX1040) and it rocks.

I'm running a similar setup on my generic 250 watt power supply that I bought for 10 bucks. As long as it's not a POS, it'll work fine. :D

I've seen this occasionally, and most often it is with a normally decent quality PS, but a 250 watt is really underpowering your system. You probably don't have much headroom to allow adding other components. But hell, who cares right? I mean you got it to work, and saved money to boot (unintended bad pun). Kiss the voodoo dolls and thank the computer gods, you are one of the lucky ones. Congrats.

And RMA the A-1 PS.
