Long story short I had to get a sticker off my car's black paint and I was excessively aggressive with a clay bar. I continually sprayed with the clay bar spray, but I simply was on the spot for too long and pressing too hard. End result is that from a certain angle now that spot of my paint is dull and hazy (yes, I washed it thoroughly). Stupid mistake, water under the bridge.
Through the haze I believe the base layer of paint is completely intact, so I still have a thin bit of clear coat left (I think/hope).
I did wax the spot, but that only made it slightly better. The water also isn't beading the same on this spot as elsewhere.
What's the best course of action? It's not a very large area, but it's a new vehicle and pretty stupid to have this. I do have some Meguiar's scratch x, which is kind of a polish--maybe go at it gently with microfiber and see what happens...?
