I Royally F'd up Windows

I decided to upgrade XP Home to Pro, and it everything went well until I had to restart. Now it doesn't boot pass the loading screen with the screen bar going horizontally accross. It crosses once, and then the computer reboots.

I've tried going into safemode, but didn't work.

I tried Knoppix, but that didn't work either.

Being the lazy bastard I am, I didn't back up anything either.

I guess the only good thing is that all my video and music are on seperate drives. I'll have to take out the drive and put it in another computer to get a few docs, emails, and some game saves... unless...

anyone has a possible solution?

did you perhaps try to upgrade an xp home sp2 with an xp pro sp1?

Knoppix didn't work? That's kinda funky. Did it work before?

Try running a fixboot in the Automated system recovery

1. I was upgrading Home SP2 with PRO SP2
2. I frequented many Knoppix forums, and all the solutions that I searched for didn't work
3. Already tried fixboot

1. F8 to safe mode.
2. Uninstall all hardware in the device manager
3. Reboot

Also try Last Known Good Config and Boot Logging (disable any drivers if it asks you)

Perhaps you can do something in the recovery console. You can try disabling some services or drivers there.

Clear CMOS.
Clear Harddrive or get a spare or none (for knoppix).
Try againl.
