Here is why I've come to dislike soccer.
1) The ball goes back and forth a lot (just like many other sports, I know), but the game is SO low scoring that I don't even get excited when the ball gets down to the opponents end....probably not going to score...again. Unlike football or basketball where getting to the other end and making some good moves almost always results in points.
2) Not a lot of depth to the game. Basketball has screens, pick and rolls, 3-point lines, etc...so many ways to score. Football has passing plays, running plays, clock management plays, trick plays, etc. Soccer seems to have little of this....just trying to get somebody into position to kick it in...and that rarely seems to work lol.

Meh, soccer sucks. It's not a sport. It's an excuse to riot, and drink Capri Sun depending on your age. Count me out.

What you don't like reading about Soccer Hooligans?
Not to mention the fan participation. Just listen to those Euro Fans every time a black player touches the ball.Originally posted by: bobert
also, how is soccer more boring than baseball or american football, in soccer the clock never stops except for half time. in american football they stop and take a break after every 15 second play, and have 2 minute commericals every 5 minutes, that sounds like a good athletically-demanding sport. even worse for baseball, you sit around picking your butt until some guy gets lucky and hits the ball, slowest game ever

Baseball does suck.
But american football? No way. American football = ultimate team sport. Let me break this down...
You've got...
Guys who can throw
Guys who can catch
Guys who can run
Guys who can block
Guys who can tackle
Guys who can kick

Baseball is fairly boring. But not less so than Soccer by any means-
Real Football is not boring at all. There is an amazing ammount of depth to the game, a huge number of things can happen on every play: You could have a bomb for a touchdown, a run for one, an interception go he other way, a fumble go the other way, a sack.... etc. The variety in how things work is huge, as is the complication of the different offensive and defensive schemes.
As for the game not being athletically demanding, that's untrue. It's not as much of an endurance sport, but that does not make it any less demanding on athletes.
Hell, marathon runners don't stop period. By default that is the most exiting sport, right?
