When I first powered it on it loaded up like normal then it shut off and I hooked it to my computer. It shows the red battery icon but it doesnt flash.

edit: I just heard it make the sound like the lock screen came up and it seems to work and shows it is charging in the top right corner. I will let it charge a bit and try it

The phone just came out. Why are you fucking around with the screen?

Because it isnt my phone and the warranty doesn't cover screens anyway. I also informed the person that the warranty would be voided since I'm not an authorized apple repair person and they didn't care

They will replace the screen for $199. Or, within (I think) 30 days of purchase you can add AppleCare+ to the device, extending the warranty to 2 years for $99 and then it covers accidental damage for $49/incident, up to 2 incidents. So if you only use it once, it is $50 less than normal and if you need to use it twice, you are saving $200.
