I reinstall My hp computer with a dell cd.

Hi,

Ok there was something wrong with my computer so I decided to reformat my computer with a dell c.d. Now I am missing all my Hp stuff. Windows media, My wireless card option, basically all my computer option. Can somebody please help.

Is this a serious post?

1) The Dell cd contains a VLK and it's tied to the original pc that it shipped with. By installing it on another computer, not to mention a non-Dell, you're commiting casual piracy.
2) The Dell CD is the OS only, hence not you typical recovery disc(s), and it will not include proprietary applications that shipped with your original HP.

Flatten out your dell install and order a set of restore discs from hp for your hp might be doable.

well, what would you expect by only installing the OS? this is where you go down the specs sheet and install all the drivers associated with each individual hardware in your computer.

So, can I download all the drivers from the hp site and install them from there? I don't even have internet after installing the dell Os on my hp laptop. I am thankful that I have a second computer at hand. I just going to burn the installation files on my cd and transfer it from there. Well It said under my laptop it said my computer still have a one year warranty. Does it mean I could get a free recovery disk.
