Every so often I get lost key packets whenever I fire up BF2. Sometimes punkbustaB didn't initialize. Half the time it plays fine.

Someone needs to fix this crappy software. :frown:

I had the same issue with Quake wars. Quite frustrating.

It's never caused me any problems... I do see messages like that on various servers, though.

I enjoy it when a newer version comes out. There is some issue between it and x64 Vista where it wont update itself. So I have to go to the site and have it run an updater. Something that should be completely automated and out of mind.

What a pos imo.

In COD2 i use /cl_maxpackets 60 (for lost packet) and for pb init failure i use /pb_security 0.

Don`t know if that works in bf2.

That also happened to me acouple of times with COD4. It's not right, quite frankly, it sucks.

As long as I turn off my firewall before I go to play I don't have any issues with it (COD4).
I have had issues in the past though and it can be a huge pain in the ass.

I've never had issues with PB and I have a firewall.

I reinstalled everything. Hopefully no more problems but seriously this is a pain in the ass. Punkbuster doesn't really help hackers at all.

Just yesterday one of the BF2 servers were hacked. Hundreds of vehicles keep falling from the sky.

it's not supposed to help hackers, its supposed to hinder them.

seriously though, no program will be 100% hack proof. someone will ALWAYS find a way to hack. people are just losers.

Ive had problems with it since COD2 and ET. When it works its fine but when I get the packet and connection errors (cant remember the specific reason) its constant and I am unable to play at all. I got fed up and stopped playing.. but yeah, thats how annoying it got for me.
