Hi all
I need a new video card and want to buy one that I won't need to upgrade in the future when I upgrade to a new system with DDR ram and 1ghz plus system. I really confused as to all the available cards out there in particular the Nvidia based cards.
What I want is a card that I can play DVD with plus video in and out yet be able to play current games without difficulties. It seems that the Radeon is a good choice here but I have heard of poor drivers support. As for NVIDA card I have no idea what card is out there that is comparatively to the Radeo's Multimedia features.
I hope to spend aprroximately around $300-$400 to get this card. I would aprreciate any input as to your recommendation.
FYI my current system is
PIII 450
196 100mhz ram
60 gig Maxtor
Promise ATA 100 Controller
SB 64 Awe
Yamaha SCSI 8424 CDRW
Voodoo 2 16meg
I will change to a new system shortly and really doesn't want to buy a new card after the change.
