I read that Yahoo released new versions of Yahoo Mail and Weather, and I picked them up over the weekend. The new Yahoo Mail is ok... it's improved but I'm not super impressed. But the new weather app is really good. It looks beautiful, it's got a great interface, and it puts information at the top in a super simple format, but you can scroll down and look at the details. And it's one of the few weather apps that will report expected accumulations of snow (which is apparently still a problem here in Colorado, where it's currently snowing... :( ) so it adds functionality that I haven't seen elsewhere.

Anyway, it's worth picking up if you haven't seen it.

why can no weather app move the center of the radar to my exact gps location? I hate having to pan and zoom to my location.

edit: seems weather bug can do this. why no other apps i've tried can, i have no idea.

its pretty nice. i was using solar before and now yahoo weather has replaced it for me.

however, the one thing that sort of bugs me is the single purple pixel line across the top. dont know why yahoo put it there but its really stupid and needs to go in the next update imo. also an ipad version would be excellent! :)

MyRadar will do that.

Hmm... the app is rather purdy, but I'll have to see if the data is any good. iOS's weather app also uses Yahoo! for its data, and I had a lot of problems during winter with it reporting the temperature being 10 degrees lower than it really was. It was a bit awkward to put on a coat because it's 38F, and then go outside to find out that I don't need a coat because weather.com reports that it's actually 48F.

I like Forecast.io, very clean and quick, plus will tell you things like 'It's going to stop raining in 7 minutes'. Also, their radar is beautiful, and centers on you.

Forecast.io is pretty awesome.

Same tech as Dark Sky, which is also awesome.

Finally downloaded it, it does look really nice, and it is pretty quick too, which is important. It's a toss-up between Forecast and Yahoo for me, but I think that Forecast edges it out when there is actually impending inclement weather with its predictions.
