Question on a Dell certification exam: The hard-disk drive on the Ultra Small Form Factor V.2 is located in a tray attached to the system board. True/False
This refers to the Ultra Small Form Factor case (really cool design for a PC of course, just a laptop on a desk). In this design, the hard drive is attached to a panel that rests on the side of the case, and has a small latch that locks it on the back of the chassis. There's a single cable (notebook hard drive) connecting the drive to the mainboard.
Somehow, that means that the tray is attached to the system board, assuming the question is properly worded. It does after all indicate the tray being attached to the system board and the hard drive mounts on the tray. If it had been worded differently, making it clear the hard drive is attached to the board, then it would have been obvious, which they don't want since it's easy, but in this case it's just plain wrong.
And to remove the media bay option drive, you have to slide a latch to unlock it, just like a laptop. But they use the word "rotate" in the questions, and it's still used with the same meaning, so they say you "rotate" the latch.
Of course none of this sort of detail is described in the study guides, so there's no way to know exactly what they're talking about. I assume they're just trying to get people to pay for training courses.
