I really don't know what is happening.

So my problems is extremely weird - I'm beginning to feel that I have become cursed.

All of my computers that I have built myself, as well as a couple of pre-built PCs have died/keep dying. I have had this issue follow me around for the past two years now.

I would like to add before I start that I only buy quality components for my systems. I stick rigidly with corsair gold or platinum PSUs and I always buy Hero version motherboards or Sabertooth (Asus). I never venture from this tradition, really.

I moved in with some friends in 2014 and bought a pre-built computer and some monitors and peripherals. Within a couple of months the hard disk usages was at about 99% upon switching on the computer and eventually it burnt out. I remember the PC had a GTX 960 in it and I was playing an Assassin's Creed game one day when the graphics went all fuzzy/blurry and the texture quality decreased.

So I replaced the PC with one I built myself (Sabertooth Z97, Corsair RM 750, i5 4790k, Asus Strix GTX 950, 1TB WD Black Drive, Corsair H60 cooler, 16GB Hyper X RAM) This was in early 2015. The same problem presented itself immediately - the picture on my monitors became all distorted and there was this weird buzzing in the air around my PC - plus it caused my smartphones display's to go yellow and fuzzy, too. I could also feel dryness in the air in my bedroom (a small room) and the hairs on my arms/neck would tingle around my setup. Once again the hardisk would reach 99% with a grinding/scratching noise most of the time.

At this point I began replacing individual components one by one in my case and replaced all my peripherals EXCEPT my monitors. I even bought a new Samsung smartphone, I was so paranoid.

Every month or so without fail I had to buy a new part, and immediately the old problems were present. I found that if I saved up and bought a whole new PC, by the time I had enough cash the PC components in my current computer would be burnt out (Hard disk, PSU then motherboard, in that order) and I would still have issues with static electricity (I think) all around/minor feelings of shock.

Eventually I moved out of that house and into a very nice converted barn (I live in the UK). I thought it would be a new beginning so I brought all my old stuff and plugged it all in...same problems. While I was living there, I basically kept buying components and replacing them one by one, and I even bought a Triplite power conditioner. No luck

When I eventually moved from this address to my current address, I completely replaced my computer BEFORE moving in, though I kept my peripherals. Fast forward to today and my PCs just keep burning out and the graphics are awful. My monitors look yellow/faded out, games look horrendous and my hard disks keep dying. My PSUs keep dying too, within the span of about two or three months. I currently live in a building that was built in the late 90s/early 2000s and I have never had any lights flicker or my fuse box trip.

My current specs are:

i7 4790k
Sabertooth Z97 motherboard
16GB Corsair Vengeance 1600MHZ RAM
HX 750i Platinum PSU (Corsair)
GTX 750 Ti GPU
1TB WD Black HDD
Noctua D15 Air CPU cooler
Zalman Z11 Plus case

Please help me, I've sunk thousands and thousands of pounds into my hobby (my life, I used to work in I.T but because of these issues with my PC/stuff they caused mental health issues and I lost my job)

I'm on the autistic spectrum, so for me PCs are my life. I can't fathom a life like this any further, I just want my stuff to WORK T_T

I currently have about £3000 stashed away for a new setup, when I get a new job, but I am so scared to spend it until I have things sorted.

I've lost hair and gained lines on my face because of this. :'(

Buy a pre-built computer with an on-site extended warranty.

When you have had that kind of bad luck with PCs, time to eliminate the extreme amount of stress the trouble-shooting and computer problems are causing you. If something goes wrong, let the manufacturer fix it.

This is exactly what I was thinking. Be sure to buy it complete with graphics card of choice to eliminate any risk of denied warranty. If it does fail then hopefully they will let you know why it failed.

There was a very similar situation to this we had on this forum, he was from the Netherlands, but try as we might we just couldn't figure it out.

May be. If so, get right with God, and try to improve your Karma, and maybe things will get better.

Logically, if the only thing consistent between your PCs, is your peripherals, and your PCs keep "burning out", then a logical solution is that they are the issue.

I would also suggest some mental-health counseling, possibly some group therapy. Have you been evaluated for Schizophrenia?

Edit: Also, consider purchasing a cheap laptop, and DO NOT connect it to any of your "peripherals". See if it burns out in short order too.

Quote "I even bought a Triplite power conditioner." My first thought was bad power. A good battery back-up is always a part of one of my systems. However bad power at three or more locations would be rare. If your cell phone is being affected when it is near the computer, then there is some serious radiation or some other emissions coming out of something. Like Larry mentioned, if the monitor(s) are the only constant, try changing them. After that it has to be interference from a surveillance device or aliens trying to communicate with you.

Schizophrenia isn't just voices. But I'm thinking that's neither here nor there.

I get worked up too when things don't work for me. It's odd. I do IT as well, but I guess when the problem is affecting me, somehow it's like a personal affront...

Just make sure you take a step back, and remain logical...just like you would if you were working on a customer's system. Getting too emotional removes your ability to troubleshoot -- our most valuable quality as techs.

Remember, even if it's serious, its not *that* serious.

If you're super tired of the game, get a pre-built system, or find a friend who's willing to build it for you instead...and maybe toss a few bucks their way.
