So I today while I was driving to pickup my younger bro from school, I failed to notice that a school bus (infront of me:() had its stop sign up. I wasn't speeding or anything (was going 30MPH in a 35MPH zone) and just plain flat out didn't stop. A CHP office nearby pulled me over and wrote me up.

This sucks, I'm a criminal now:|.

I'm suppose to recieve a letter in the mail informing me of when my hearing is, how should I approach the hearing? I'm just gonna tell the judge I flat out didn't stop and explain that I plan on taking traffic school. How much does an incident like this usually cost?:(

Thanx!

You shouldn't have wasted those 6 points on running a bus stop sign, at least waste it on street racing if you must :p

That's six points up here.

The only other thing you can do to get six points is street racing.

Is that equivalent to running a regular stop sign?

If it is... around los angeles its around $270... + $30 for traffic school = $300

My friend got a ticket for not completely stopping at a stop sign up by a ski resort and his ticket 'only' cost him $160.

Lie and say that your vision was impaired by the blinding light reflecting off the stop sign

Or say you had your eyes closed!!

When you come upon a school bus stopped on either side of the road with flashing red lights, you must stop. The flashing red lights are located at the top front and top back of the bus. Schoolchildren will be crossing the road to or from the school bus. Remain stopped as long as the red lights are flashing. Failure to do so is a violation of VC §22454. You may be fined up to $1000 and your driving privilege could be suspended for a period of one year.

You need not stop if the bus is on the other side of a divided or a multilane (two or more traffic lanes in each direction) highway.

Do you have a clean driving record? Just go to the judge and explain what happened... hopefully he'll lower the fine. Good luck.

Dude I don't think the 'hearing' you mentioned is about the ticket, its about the disposition of your drivers license -- whether it will be suspended, how long, whether you will have to attend traffic school, be retested or whatever. :brokenheart:

good luck, man.

Admit the fault and hope the judge doesn't suspend your licence.
