I ran a borrowed E46 M3 into our garage

I came to the realization that I wasn't being careless.

I just made a decision that I was in reverse, and I acted upon the decision. It was less carelessness, and I was just wrong.

 
my cheapo ford makes you put the stick all the way over to 1st before you can go to reverse..

It was a 6. My neighbor wasn't angry at all. He said he couldn't even see it.

I'll also take a brave guess and say the color wasn't black, right? 😉

From now on, just take that "extra" glance over at the shifter before releasing the clutch/giving it gas on any car. Heck, after almost a years' worth of the daily driving experience on my ride, I still do. 🙂
 
uncle had a white e46 m3 parked out front.. sweet car.. i had to move it to another parkin spot

clutch was very easy/smooth.. reversing aswell..

just thought id mention it
 
go to Maaco and get yourself an overnight Paint job ASAP. It's a couple hundred dollars. QUICKLY

It wasn't black, it was silver.
 
heh, a good PDR shop or detailer could have it looking like brand new...

It'd prolly help me to sleep better if I took it to a good detail shop to polish out any scratches have them wax the exterior on my bill for my very VERY gracious neighbor. For one, letting you drive his E46 M3! Sounds like a cool guy. 🙂

you have to use a bit of force to move the stick left to get it into reverse. Ironically enough, this is the precise reason I do not valet my M.
