If you think you'll have one while drunk, perhaps ask the designated driver to also be your designated no smoking guy. Tell him/her to not let you smoke when you're drunk. You don't want to have any, or else getting off them will be much harder. Giving in to the craving, drunk or sober, is a no no.

Friendly advice, quit drinking for 3 months. That's about how long it took me for my cravings to pass (wife took much longer). Been smoke free for 3.5 years now.
