GL and keep at it, it could be a couple months before the craving goes away.

Just wait til you get past the point where you still reflexively reach for the one above your ear/pack in shirtpocket/wherever you keep them? I was doing that for a week or two.

just replace one addiction for another

do you think theirs people who don't get addicted to smoking? i mean, at a party i'll smoke and iv bought about 40 or so packs of cigarettes when i was a 'smoker' but i was totally able to just stop, and not care for smoking. right now i have a pack of reds thats been sitting in my car for 2 weeks, took me a week to smoke half the pack the other half i don't even feel like smoking.... i just don't like smoking tabacco... is that why, even tho last year for a 6 month span i purchased like 40-50 packs?

Congrats, I hope you can stick with it.

I've never had a problem going a week or two without cigarettes, but then I might go a week or two with 2-3 a day. I don't think I'm addicted, I haven't had one for a few days and I'm fine. I haven't bought a pack in well over 2 months.

you know that feeling after running and your really really thursty, where you just want to swallow a bottle of water whole, kinda like that.

smoking occasionaly that doesnt happen, but whenever you get a physical craving for something thats what it feels like.

Apparently not.

Hang in there. Once the first few months are out of the way the cravings should pass. I'll have quit for a year come November. I fell much better and can't believe what I did to my body by smoking for 10 years.

Wish I had quit long long ago.

<Almost 10 mo. smoke free. Just don't smoke. No matter what happens to you, no excuses...dont smoke. You start feeling better and better and it gets easier and easier. They only disgust me now. I don't even like being around people that smoke. It really is very very stupid.
