I made the commute from Baltimore to Philly for a year before I found a better job... Now I commute from Baltimore to Reston VA. I'm not driving as far as you (only 120 miles a day), but I can definitely understand why such a long haul would be a PITA.

Yeah, as much as I want to stand up on my bosses desk and piss on his chair, it really doesn't make sense to do.

Just "Dirty d*ck" his coffee cup on the way out....

It was your choice to drive that commute every day. It shouldn't be their responsibility that you don't live near your job.

He is only 60 miles away, the rest of that is trips for the company.

That's true, I knew what was involved before I started. But at the end of the day, it has to make sense for me. I did not realize how much money I would be pouring into my car because of it.

nonsense.

200 miles a day is 1000 miles a week and 48,000 miles a year.

x 5 years is 240,000 miles. A lot? Yes.

But not when you're driving 48,000 miles a year.

Highway miles just aren't the same. But, maintenance costs would be extraordinarily high. I don't think it would be too bad with a decently reliable car though?....

I remember when you took this job a couple of years ago. I didn't think it would last but you've hung in there longer than I thought, that's for sure. I think I remember you saying you weren't too crazy about being in graphic design any longer though. If you can start up your own business, by all means do so. Good luck

UPDATE: Well, I'm finally a free man! They kept asking me to come back for another week, and another, but now I'm free. I have many different options in many different fields now. Thankfully I'm getting alot of calls with job offers.

Why were they not paying you the IRS $.405/mi + tolls?

No, they paid for all gas and tolls. They did not pay for any repairs I had to have done due to wear and tear.
