I know America is loved throughout the world (despite what the media portrays). But why is it that other countries can't set aside a day to thank us. Let me go down the list here.
Japan was set free from a tyrannical government mostly in part to the Americans winning WW2. They have a great economy and a great society now in thanks to the U.S. of A. How about a holiday?
South Korea, again, would it be too much to thank America for defending your flourishing capitalist society?
Germany, we took out that whack job Hitler and helped you turn into a great industrial country. You owe us.
France/England, would one day be too much to ask?
Iraq, I know it seems like we're bad guys. But it's like how you got mad when your Dad made you study instead of smoking dope and partying, you'll thank us later.
And the rest of the world, we may not have saved your butts directly, but it's pretty comforting knowing the US will selflessly help you if you're ever in trouble.
Here is how I want this holiday setup. It takes place on the 4th of July. Fireworks throughout the world. Beer, cookouts, what a perfect global holiday! This would help bring the world closer together while giving Americans the respect they deserve.
It's not a worship America day, rather, it's a day to recognize the sacrifices American's have made on the worlds behalf and have a good time doing it too.
So to people posting from overseas, lend your support for this great holiday by celebrating the 4th of July next year!
What have you ever done for Canada, except steal a landmass that isn't even connected to your country, and try to invade us (repeatedly)?
For anyone that says "We turned Canada into a world power", think: Is Canada a World Power in any sence of the word? No.
Last I looked they bought Alaska from Russia so it was not yours in the first spot.
Actually Canada bidded on Alaska, but in your desire for manifest destiny (and your desire to attempt to conquer Canada OVER and OVER again) you outbid us.
