So my kid wants an I Pod and gets one for her birthday. Now, all she wants to do is load it up with MP3's that I have on my PC. Easier said than done, I am finding.
For a dope like me, thoroughly ignorant about all things Apple, can someone explain how this can easily be done?
Thank you.

Hehe. Yeah, I can go that route. But at a buck a pop and 8GB's to fill up, that'll get costly real fast.
With 25GB's of MP3's at my disposal, I'd much prefer to drop and drag 'em into the IPod. But I guess that isn't going to happen.

You do not have to buy their songs, itunes will search your pc for all music and then you sync the ipod w/ itunes, easy cheesy.

And to get the full mediamonkey you have to pay for it...

You can't really sync all of your songs, so what I would do is just make a playlist, call it "Daughter Sync" or whatever, then just simply sync only that playlist to the ipod. That way you can just drag and drop any songs you want to get into the ipod in that playlist in itunes and you'll have no issues.
