Outstanding! Goodness knows we need more lawyers! Just kidding...the bar is one tough nut to crack, so hat's off to ya.

Congrats. I remember receiving my letter when I passed my state board exam. Best feeling in the world. Congratulations again!

I waited (along with everyone else) about 12 weeks in Ohio.

You guys are pikers! Calfornia has a three-day bar, the most test takers in the United States, and only 16 graders (at least when I took it in 1998). I didn't get my results until just before Thanksgiving. This is how I ended up with a really sh!tty first assignment as an Air Force JAG - everyone else got their bar results and assignments before me.

CONGRATS! you passed the (second) hardest BAR in the US!

I believe NY is usually regarded as THE toughest (and I say that as a CA bar member).

CA has an unusually large number of out-of-state lawyers trying to test in, and has more non-ABA-accredited law schools than anywhere else (most states have none), so its overall pass rate is very low (it was 48% when I took it), but the pass rate from first-time takers who graduated from accredited schools is fairly high.

A lot!!! It got really bad mentally for the last two weeks before the exam - just the feeling that you aren't going to learn what you need to. Ugh. Thanks goodness it's all behind me!

grats, what field of law do you plan on going into?

Corporate law. Specifically, structured finance.

Hmm...would you recommend your field to someone who is evaluating his options now? (See: senior undergrad)
