I owe the DMV $ and it went to collections

Got a collection notice from DMV and it said something about they would deny me DMV services until paid. I plan on paying it after I get a couple other things done first but do you think they'll make me an ID card? I won't be getting a driver's license just an ID.

Nope, if they have you on file as a bad debtor they will not provide any service.

What's so hard about paying the DMV? I always thought it was a cash-and-carry 😱

An ID card, perhaps. I'd assume they're in someway obligated to provide that regardless of if they're owed $. A license would be out of the question though.

yeah that's what im figuring i mean how can I pay them if I can't cash checks / prove who I am etc.
