Left handed high 5 brother. Glad you are getting it under control.

Yeah he has been doing really good. We sort of screwed up two weeks ago taking him on a day trip with a long car ride. He did great at first, loved sniffing around the new park. Did okay at the second park which is his favorite but toward the end of the walk he became sort of lethargic and had a disastrous poop. After that we mellowed out in the car while my wife did some light shopping and later at the beach. She walked much further that us but him & I checked out stuff he wanted to sniff then we sat down and just waited. He appeared much better after a couple of hours just milling around and hanging out.
Next day he was fine but we will not be doing long day trips like that again with him.
Long ride with overnight stay will happen. Long ride with lots of activity and a long ride home will not happen again.

I just showed your pooch to my vet friend. We are on a long road trip with the three dogs right now. He thinks he's adorable.
His suggestion is slightly increase the steroid on the morning of a longer day.
Stressed animals will burn through cortisol more rapidly. He will probably do better.

Yeah we gave him 10mg that day.
But yeah he is a strange chemistry project.

Fun fact his doggy dna test was as expected
Mutt
Mixed breed Terrier
Mutt
Mixed breed basset hound
At the snd they listed “Fun Facts” his dna had some gb-whatever flags which indicate a more than four generations ago ancestor had very similar dna to an Irish Wolf Hound.
Crazy how any dog can mate with any other dog and what you end up with generations later.
When someone snobby asks we tell them he is our miniature Irish wolf hound.

Vet visit three:
Still working on a more stable over clock. We’ve gone from 10mg prednisone to 5mg to 2.5 and now down to 1.25.
His blood work showed he is being over treated potassium and sodium readings were all backwards from where they were expected to be with Addisons. Vet said this is normal and it takes time to figure out right dosages. He’s down to .75 units of the injectable that I forgot the name of and 1.25(ish) of the daily prednisone. I say “ish” because splitting a 5mg pill four ways will be challenging. Vet wrote a prescription for a 1mg pill that I could cut in half, so a full pill plus a half pill she said that’s close enough.
He has put on some weight but he appears to still be in the healthy range. Weight hasn’t increased from last visit so it isn’t a huge concern. Wife & I plan on giving him fewer or smaller treats. Last weekend she started giving veggies as treats and they seem to excite him just as much.
His energy is good, his crapping is good and he is still extra brave but not super brave like he was on the mega dosage. He acts much more normal now but still drinks a lot of water and has to go outside frequently however we were able to leave him alone for 12 hours twice recently and no accidents.

We dose our girl with a liquid, 0.2 Ml prednisolone ( 15Mg/5Ml solution) in a syringe over her food. That equals 0.6 Mg.
The injection is at 0.6 Ml Percorten-V ( 25Mg/Ml ) every 23 days.

You might see about getting the prednisolone solution, it is both inexpensive and easy to adjust the dosing.
