Just buy a 5lb bag of frozen wings at the grocery store, put about half of them on a baking pan and bake at 350 for about 40 min. Then put them under the broiler to crisp them a little bit for about 2 min, flip em over and broil another couple min, take out of the oven, put them in an empty ice cream pale (or other such container) toss with Franks Red Hot or some other sauce you like and viola.
whoa, it's that easy? and here i was paying $7 for 10 wings
I bought 8 pounds of Perdue wings for $10. On sale the 4lb bags are $4.99. The sauce is approximately equal parts of Franks hot sauce and butter/margarine. Use a 60/40 or 70/30 ratio of Franks to butter to make them hotter and 40/60 or 30/70 to make them milder.
How I do it:
Thaw the wings and pat them dry.
Dredge them lightly with flour, salt and pepper. The sauce will adhere better if the wings are coated.
Bake at 350* for 30-40 minutes.
While the wings are baking mix the sauce.
When done baking toss the wings in the sauce.
Put the wings under the broiler for about 30 seconds to crisp them up.
For the sauce I go 70/30 because I like them hot. Also tossing in a little white vinegar makes the sauce better, but that's optional. Serve with either blue cheese or ranch dressing. I figure a dozen wings runs about $2 for all the ingredients.
