I ordered all my computer parts. The only thing left is the Hard Drive.

I was looking to spend around $100 on the HDD. I decided that I wanted to go with a 1TB one, but I don't know which to pick. It would be my only drive (atleast until christmas or so when i can get an extra one), so it would need to be decently fast (I heard the WD "green" ones are not very fast). Should I go with a WD Black? any suggestions are appreciated. (I am paranoid about checking the customer reviews on newegg to see if the drive has a high rate of failure (I wouldnt have money in my budget for an external drive right away))

Edit: It needs to be SATA
 
hahaha someone actually noticed... but im sitting here with like 1/2 my parts and the other half is already paid for and on the way... the only thing left is HDD and i think im gonna get the WD Black. This is my first build, so im like OCD about the parts. for the sake of your forum, i hope i can get it to boot on the fist try 🙂
 
Why wouldn't you be able to get it up and running?
There's hundreds of video building guides on YouTube.
 
yeah, im betting i will get it up and running, ive read the stickied guide + google has all the answers

Edit: itll really throw me off though if one of my parts is DOA but thats what beep codes are for

Edit: Before I go to bed though, I would have to say that this forum has been a phenomenal help. I was sent here when I was doing some research and was looking on yahoo answers. From that point, I may have been an annoying newbie but I am thankful for all the people who actually want to help each other get their computers working/built.

Whoever pointed you here did the right thing.
You'll get good / honest help here when needed.
Hang out here long enough, and you'll be helping your friends with their pc problems. 😉

And i'd get the WD Black also, i have one and its nearly as fast as my WD Velociraptor 300gb.
If i could do it again, i woulda just bought two 1tb WD Black drives and ran them in raid, theyre excellent drives!
