It shows she is online right now in my router, yet her pc doesn't show up in the network in Vista Home Premium. What am i doing wrong?

2000ms ping? Ha. Her signal must be dropping like it's hawt. Even if you could browse her drive, a 2000ms ping is gonna make it soooo damn slow.

As far as file sharing goes with Vista, for some reason it's got this lame default setting for the network connection where it sets it to a "Public Network" and everything including file sharing is basically blocked(I think ping might be too, so that may not be your issue). I dunno if that's the firewall or not but what a pain in the ass. You've got to switch that setting to "Private Network" to get file sharing and print sharing to work with Vista. Found that out after spending two hours trying to share a printer for someone who just bought a Vista pc.

Technically she is the one committing the crime by accessing his network without authorization. Whether that gives him the right to browse the contents of her pc I don't know. They're both probably in the wrong.

i've had my XP computer jump on a neighbor's wireless when booting up,
and ignore mine. Even though the signal strength was like 2%. I was able
to logon to their Linksys router with default password... LOL.
