Because I like using the best. How do I know Im using the best possible cables? Well, its gold plated - thats a sign of quality. Not only that, its expensive. Very expensive. Sure I could buy some oddball cheapo tin plated crap made in Timbucktoo from some bozo website in Calamazoo, but why? I can just drive to Best Buy, drop $100 and Im set.

Sure you have the haters. They  to rag on Monster Cable, but I dont know why. People like that think that saving a buck or two is everything. Its not.

Thank you for your insight. I'm willing to bet that a majority of users here will disagree with you. It is unfortunate that so many people don't understand the meaning of quality. There is far more to cable design than just wrapping wires in plastic sheathing, and Monster Cable knows this. That is why they produce a superior product. As for myself, I only use Monster Cables for my Mac, because using anything else would be an insult to the Apple brand. My USB transfers faster, my sound sounds better, my screen has vibrant, well defined colors, and my internet is faster. This is all because I use quality components from quality manufacturers. Everyone knows this.

Felix vs flyingpig....

Felix with a quick jab, oh then flyingpig rebuffs with a wholopping body shot. Oh wait, looks like Felix has something left in him: oh jeez, what a hook! Flyingpig falls down, but can he get up? 1.....2.....3....can he make it?...4.....56789...10.

And Felix is the winnar!!!

In addition...

I only buy jeans that cost over $200 because I like to wear the best clothes money can buy. How do I know they're the best? Well they're hand sewn with Japanese selvage denim by VIRGINS, so the feel better than sex (with a virgin). Also they have awesome stitching that tells people "Wow, that guy really cares about how he looks." and that means a lot to me. I could buy some cheap brand with crappy denim that costs 1/10th as much, but then no one would think I was cool.

Good for you. I spent $0.97 on a DVI-HDMI cable to hook up my computer to my TV. It works pretty well.

A quality pair of jeans complements my Macbook quite well. Unlike PC users, all Mac users have an unparalleled sense of style. We put as much care and thought into purchasing a pair of jeans as we do in buying computers, and it shows. What do people think about when the hear "PC"? They think of work. Boredom. Conformity. This is not the case with Apple products. People immediately associate Macs with hip, stylish, well socialized people who always look their best. Weather it be in the workplace, in school, or in the club, you can always tell a Mac user from a PC drone. Our clothes are nicer, our computers are better. You see, for us it's all about buying the best. The best made. The best looking. The best fitting. The best. Everyone knows this.

Who was it that compared that $50,000 speaker wire made from gold to copper wire coat hangers to a bunch of people that couldn't tell a single difference?

Point is that just because a cable costs an arm and a leg and has all these "advanced shielding and transferring technologies" doesn't mean that its still not a length of wire connecting point A to point B. That .50 cent HDMI cable with free shipping from China that you got on eBay is no worse than that 6 foot $150 HDMI Monster Cable...they're both copper wire...simple enough.

Those "people" didn't have the ability to hear the difference. What I mean by this is, there are some people who are just better than others. Those people tend to make more money, and buy better more expensive things. They do this because they have the ability to appreciate the quality workmanship and performance of high end goods. Sure, for the average person a 50 cent cable might work perfectly fine, but for the exceptional person, that same cable would produce an image or sound that is simply unbearable to their finely tuned senses. That is the difference. Some people just don't have the genetic potential to appreciate these things and that's fine. Not everyone can own a Mac, or appreciate the elegance of a Monster Cable. It is a sad truth that these people will never experience these things. Everyone knows this.

You can argue about the cables...but throwing the word "Mac" in there just makes you sound ignorant. Besides the OS, which Windows works just as well to those who actually know what they are doing, the hardware is nothing more than an overpriced PC...I don't care if their laptops are made from aluminum, the electronics are just as likely to break as they are in a plastic PC laptop. They are in no way more sturdy or unlikely to cease perfect function.

And I still hold my position on cables...all of them have copper cores, all of them are shielded enough to resist average amounts of interference (maybe Monster Cables will have less static if a EMP goes off, either way youre fucked) and all of them function the same. Try to prove that my 50 cent ethernet cable has worse performance than your 50 dollar ethernet Monster Cable.

ITS ALL THE SAME!

First, it's not just about the cable, it's about the combination of high quality components. As I stated in another thread, yes, Macs use PC components, but they are the highest quality components available. Apple only accepts parts that exceed the standard, while PC manufacturers just throw whatever garbage they get into their builds, which is why PC are so consistently inferior. Now, if you combine the high quality parts in a Mac with a high quality cable, then you get better performance in every aspect imaginable. This is something all Mac users are accustomed to, so we are shocked by the rampant inferiority of products out on the PC market. Being a PC user, you have been surrounded by products that are a whole order of magnitude worse than anything available for the Mac. It is no surprise then, that you think your 50 cent cable performs the same as my Mac/Monster Cable set up. It's just ignorance on your part. Thats all there is to it. Sorry, man.

I SINCERELY hope that at this point you are playing with the sarcastic side of your brain.

A Mac's ultra l33t "highest quality" Intel processor in no way differs than the one that is currently residing in my PC. Period. Same goes for your special Monster Cables. That's all there is to it. Sorry, man.
