I often get a runtime error when opening some websites...

It says:

A RUNTIME ERROR HAS OCCURRED.
DO YOU WISH TO DEBUG?

LINE: 1
ERROR: SYNTAX ERROR

What is the cause? hardware/software problem?

This is not General Hardware related.

Are you using IE?
If so, do the following:
1. Get Ad-aware and Spybot S&D.
2. Get Firefox or Opera.
3. Get updates, check and remove stuff w/ Spybot and Ad-aware.
4. Get cool web shredder just in case and run it.
5. If problem persists, reinstall IE.
6. Stop using IE.

Looks like a script error, though, so could be no big thing.

I also get this with AOL 9.0, ive had it with other sites and these forums. I just click yes or no and either way it seems fine.

Actually this error is rather new, before it was a diffrent one with a yellow warning sign but i cant remember what it said, but this runtime error one seems to have replaced it.

You can turn off script debugging and then it won't come up anymore.

Tools>Internet Options>Advanced Tab>"Disable Script Debugging"
