I/O Range conflict in Device Manager

I recently installed my chipset drivers as I had not yet done it since building my new machine about one month ago. Afterwards, I started going through Device Manager (the 'System devices' section) to make sure that the driver versions and dates are correct.

That's when I noticed an I/O Range conflict with these two devices:

Input/Output Range 0400 - 041F used by:
Motherboard resources

Input/Output Range 0400 - 041F used by:
Intel(R) 82801G (ICH7 Family) SMBus Controller - 27DA

There are 4 'Motherboard resources' listings, the conflict is in the 2nd one and at I/O Range 0400 - 041F.

I tried booting into Safe Mode, and uninstalling both devices. Upon a regular restart into Windows, I was back at square one (i.e. the conflict was still present). I also tried updating my BIOS (from 1305 to 1407) but that didn't help either.

I'm really not sure what to do from here, and I believe this may be the cause of some other anomalies I'm having with my system so I'd very much like to resolve it.

Any and all help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks for that link, tk11. I Googled forever yesterday but could barely find any information on this. I'm reading through it now.

EDIT: Well at least I'm not alone with this 'issue'. Maybe an updated chipset driver from Intel somewhere down the line will correct this. Otherwise I'll just ignore for now.

well... if the problem only occurs with the new drivers, why not rollback to the previous drivers? What's the point of keeping the update if it creates a bug instead of fixing it?
