My son got the VeggieTales DVD "The Ballad of Little Joe" for Christmas and it is really a cute little show. You can tell the creators really had fun converting the bible story of Joseph and his coat of many colors into a silly western.

However, my 20-month old son just hit the "I want to watch my favorite show over and over and over and over and over" phase. Which means I get to hear it over and over and over. It's cute though to see him try to sing along with the Veggitales song. When he wants to watch it he'll start saying "Joe!.....Joe!......Joe!" Then, there is my personal favorite...he tries to start singing the main ballad - "Ohhhhh Jooooeeee, Ohhhhh Little Jooooooeeeee!"

Downside: I'm at work singing VeggieTales song.

Upside: I'm not at work singing Elmo or Barney songs.

Well, I had my 2-year-old son "burn" the Veggie Tales "where is my hairbrush" song into my brain.

Ack!

Hahaha, VeggieTales are the best. I had to watch them because I helped watch small children - they were entertaining. The kids were in a daze...It was great. Never watched em more than 10 times though. :)

Go the mall.

Find the kiosk where they sell the VeggieTales CD's personalized with your child's name.

It's worth every penny. I got it for my nephew for Christmas and the look on his face when Bob and Larry say "hello, Joshua!" was priceless. He actually walked over to the stereo speakers when Junior said "Hello, Joshua" and replied with "hello, Junior!"

I'm told they did ~700 names. That must have been the recording session from hell.

I like the pirates that don't do anything.

You know you're a dad when you have been singing to the veggie tales cd for 30 minutes and then remember that the kids are NOT in the car with you.

Yeah, the Pirates that Don't Do Anything are my wife's favorite. We're slowly buidling up our VeggieTales collection right now.

We're going to do a VeggieTales themed birthday party for my son when he turns 2 in April. Should be fun.

or a mom! (i do that too...then all of a sudden i think "hey! i can put in one of MY cd's!)

we have Larry Boy PUZZLES, 2 cd's for the car, about 5 of the videos and a couple plush animals. oh, and i'm about to buy Veggie Tales Valentine's for Sarah to take to preschool. <sigh>

i have friends (adults) who come over and actually ASK to watch Veggie Tales w/my 3 1/2 yr old daughter. that cracks me up, but there's enough adult humor in them to be universally appreciated. i like the Grapes of Wrath. :p

Yeah, there's a scene in Little Joe where Madame Blueberry's character, Miss Kitty, is doing a saloon performance that immediately made me think of Lili Von Shtupp from Blazing Saddles.
