I now have two SSDs... which one for gaming pc, or work pc?

I just got a OCZ Vertex 2 120 gb SSD.

I already have a Super Talent Ultradrive ME running my rig at home:

Keep in mind that I am not doing anything too resource intensive at work. I'm really just trying to figure out which drive I should go with at home.

Should I:

A. Use the VERTEX 2 at home for gaming, and swap the ST Ultradrive for the work PC

B. Use the ST Ultradrive at home, with the OCZ for work.

C. It doesn't matter, they're both just as fast.

D. Screw work, use one SSD to store games, and another the OS

Cheers-

Believe it or not you will not really see a difference as most of your visible upgrade occurs with the seek times. the OCZ is the better performing of the two and they are both up there for capacity so you are ok both ways. if I HAD to pick, of course i would go with the SandForce...OCZ drive.

Why would you put something YOU own in your works' PC? You paid for it, use it at home!

Cause you use your work PC a lot and without it its painfully slow. Well in my case anyways. I put my own SSD into my work laptop. Its only a 60GB samsung one tho, still A LOT faster than using a HDD.

A or D, Depending if you see a massive diff in your work pc or need the speed.

Well depends if your work PC was bought with your own money, of it was from your company (ie if you quit/get fired you have to return your work PC). If the work PC is your own then I'd probably put the Super Talent in my work PC. If the company owns the work PC then screw it and just blame your slow productivity on the old fashioned spindle HDD. 😀

Unless you really want to make your work machine rock, then use the Vertex 2 at home. It's faster, it's new... definitely use it at home.

I agree with not even putting it in your work PC. Where I work I end up swapping pc's around all the time with people and if you were to have installed your own parts you'd have some trouble explaining yourself.

Trouble explaining what? I assume by swapping PCs you mean swapping *ownership* not just trading them around like office chairs that are all identical. You need to trade machines you put the original hardware back and hand it over. What's so hard?

Choice "A"

...and maybe he owns his 'work'...that's the boat I'm in, and use an SSD here too 🙂
