I never saw Kill Bill vol 1...is it required to watch vol 2?

I've always managed to catch the last half hour of the first movie...never saw the whole thing.

would it be completely pointless to see vol 2 tonight??

or does it really not matter?

Mr. Movie Phone was on the radio this morning here in Dallas, he said it's unnecessary to have seen Volume 1 first although it certainly doesn't hurt if you have (I guess there are flashbacks to what happened in V1)

It's not required, but some of the things in the second movie might not make much sense without it. If you've seen the last half hour, you saw most of the "House of Blue Leaves" fight and the final fight with O-ren, so you'll understand why the rest of the DiVAS are a little afraid of her.

It's not like the movie has much of a plot anyway, but yeah I'd recommend seeing the first prior to the second.

FWIW, Christian Science Monitor reviewer said Vol.2 is much better than Vol.1
